Domes are ideal climatic envelope enclosures for extreme environments. This dome was the first of a number of Conservatek projects in Siberia. Conservatek design/built a 103′ diameter Star*Dome system to be part of the new sports complex for Gazprom – the Russian Gas Company in cold Siberia.

The aluminum dome is ideal for cold environments, i.e. it gets stronger while steel cracks in the cold. The dome has a fiberglass and membrane “blanket of insulation” hung inside the dome for good insulation in the extreme environment. The area of insulated acrylic panels on the South exposure to let in natural light.
